In September I bought a sack of potatoes, I was planning on eating them, you know, bake a few, use some for stew, maybe make some home made potato chips, take advantage of the fact that we have a kitchen.
Yea that fell through. The potatoes sat in a closet all winter, and started sprouting and growing.
And since I'm not going home for spring break, yesterday we took advantage of the first day of break to go out to Clark Park in West Philly to plant the potatoes. Hopefully we should have a good harvest by fall semester.

Clark Park
It's not as pretty now as it was before, without leaves on the trees and the bowl all muddy.

Digging
Look at that little pile of potatoes we're putting in. If we're lucky they'll grow and we can harvest them in the fall!

Potato Planting
Though it was slow work, we actually planted almost all of them before some guy wandered by and told us to stop, because they would have to be weeded out if they grew.

Potato in a Hole
Look at that monster thing sprouting from the potato.

Trinh, Jordan, Danyi
Danyi is cold. Can you see the spoon we're using to dig?

The Potato Tree
Most of the potatoes are planted around this tree.
